Sunday was a cold, rainy day. I was sitting in front of the log burner, watching the flames through the glass front and deciding what to do. Being Sunday – I didn’t want to “work” – I like to give myself time-out from “working” – I feel this is something really important to establish when you work from home. It very easy to be “on call” all the waking hours! But hubby was chatting on his forum, the rain was hammering down on the tin roof over the yard and so I picked up my laptop … we don’t have a TV here in Spain. “I’ll just check my e-mails”, I said to myself.
That was FATAL! Read the rest of this entry

In “Coming Clean…” I said I was going to video what I do each day and let you have a look at it.
Well, this is proving impractical because I find I am spending more time on these videos than on my project! I ended up making videos of me editing a video with Camtasia for putting on my blog!
So, I did video the day after the last post – but have decided that my first video post should be the one where I posted the blog post.
Firstly, I am working out how to post the video here….
You will see it when I have figured it out – and I’ll video a “How to… ” for that.
Secondly, I’ve seen a real cool feature where people can comment on one’s video/blog post from within Facebook and the comments appear here on the blog! I’m trying to work that out too and will let you know “How to…” as soon as I do!
Thank you for your patience

I have got past the middle of January without posting. Is this an achievement? Everyone else posted a review of their 2011 achievements and their plans and predictions for 2012. I didn’t. Why?
Well, I just didn’t know what to write in either of these categories so I kept schtum. I have been thinking it over and realise that the reason I’m finding it so hard to post is that I want to give good value to my readers and I felt that to do this in the internet marketing field, I had to appear to know what I was talking about. Hence the posts in the “101 Listbuilding Tips” and the “10 ways that …” series. Truth be told – if you didn’t realise it already – those are PLR products that I am “serializing” and putting out as posts. (Don’t get me wrong, this is a great way to find great content but I was using ONLY PLR and nothing of my own!) This has made me feel totally disconnected from this, my blog. But this is about to change.

You may have been wondering why I am blogging. Well, basically I NEED to find a reason to use my computer! To me, life just isn’t worth living if you can’t use the beast every day – sad, isn’t it! But I was lucky enough to find computers when I left school (back in the dark ages!) and have been happily either being employed using them or employing them for my own interests ever since. So when I basically “retired” I wanted to keep my computer busy and so decided to learn about life “online”, and if I could make money at the same time – so much the better. So I tip-toed into internet marketing. I’ve been dashing around here, there and everywhere – chasing every shiny object that offered to help me make money… none of them have BUT… I’ve learnt a whole lot and made a whole lot of friends all over the world.
Then I decided to curtail my spending and get back to the original dream of making at least some income to fund my “retirement” and boost the pension. Hence my attendance at the World Internet Summit.

We have 3 Siberian Huskies that we acquired in Spain. I know, you’d think it was the wrong temperature there for them… but they have an inner layer of “hair” that acts as an insulator against cold … AND heat. So, in the summer, provided they lie out of the sun – and preferably on cool tiles in a breezy hallway, they are fine in the heat of the summer.
We bought the first Siberian Husky puppy, Tikaani, from our neighbours in Spain, shortly after we moved there – we were so taken by the lovely colours and natures of both the mother and father. We were given the pick of the litter before, sadly, the rest were taken to Carrefour for sale in the pet section there. The next litter from the same parents, we acquired our second puppy, Nanook. For Nanook, I gave the neighbour’s son 10 English lessons … to help him pass his matriculation.
Move on a couple of years and one day the neighbours stopped us and asked did we want the mother – as she had not Read the rest of this entry

La Huerta = the Vegetable Patch
(Sorry no photos – I lost my camera
after taking the pictures)
Back in the Spring, when the heat of summer was just a dream, when it was raining cats and dogs, when the wind was blowing a gale… my neighbour, Ursula, asked if she could use a area of our land for a vegetable patch.
Our land is a sort of triangle – the base of the triangle is where the house is and it then runs 2 longer sides down the slope to a blunt point – 3 olive trees in a row. Three rows of olive trees run up starting with these 3 trees and splaying out to make room for the house, thus making the triangle … so there is an area in the middle – triangular! – that has no trees on. Our neighbours’ land is squarer so has trees in neat rows all across.
Then, water is a consideration – they have a well, but it is dry, whereas we have 2 wells which both have water. This may be due to the fact that their land and well are further up the mountain than ours and so when the water level drops in the summer … guess who gets the water! Furthermore, I have a strong suspicion that there is a spring under/near our well because in a wet year the water runs right out over the top.
The deal with the vegetable patch was that we would provide the land, water and electricity to run the pump, and they Read the rest of this entry
