Have You Done Your Blog Back up?

shock

Sunday was a cold, rainy day.  I was sitting in front of the log burner, watching the flames through the glass front and deciding what to do.  Being Sunday – I didn’t want to “work” – I like to give myself time-out from “working” – I feel this is something really important to establish when you work from home.  It very easy to be “on call” all the waking hours!  But hubby was chatting on his forum, the rain was hammering down on the tin roof over the yard and so I picked up my laptop … we don’t have a TV here in Spain.  “I’ll just check my e-mails”, I said to myself.

That was FATAL! Read the rest of this entry

10 Ways That Work for Getting More Subscribers

There’s a fortune a-lying  hidden in your mailing list.  And…

The bigger your list, the bigger the fortune for you to tap.

That’s why these 10 tips for getting more subscribers are almost as good as money in the bank…

1.   Include a call to action at the end of your blog posts.

Let your visitors know that if they like your blog posts, they’ll love your newsletter content. That’s because you save some of your best niche tips, tricks and secrets for subscribers.

To get more subscribers, include a link to your landing page at the bottom of your posts, along with a reason to click on that link.

Example: Discover 101 more weight loss tricks for free – click here!

2.   Encourage a viral effect.

You can get more subscribers simply by including a note at the bottom of every newsletter where you encourage your existing subscribers to forward your email to their friends, family and colleagues who could benefit from the information.

Example: “Do you know someone else who could benefit from these dog training secrets? Please forward this email to them – they’ll thank you for it!”

3.   Use your forum signature file to get new subscribers.

If you’re visiting busy niche forums, include an ad and a call to action in your forum signature.

Example: “Free report reveals the health secrets your doctor doesn’t want you to know! Click here to claim your copy now…”

4.   Point your Twitter followers to a free report.

You can use Twitter.com as well as other social media sites (like Facebook.com) to grow your list. Simply point your fans and followers towards your squeeze page to pick up a free report. Include this link on your profile page as well as in some of your posts (“tweets”).

5.   Embed your links in your products.

Sometimes people share your digital products with their friends. Sometimes they give away or sell pirated copies of your product. Either way, you can benefit from this if you include links to your squeeze page in your paid products.

6.   Drive traffic to your landing page using videos.

You can create YouTube.com videos for the sole purpose of driving traffic to your newsletter sign up page. To get the best results, include a call to action at the end of your video where you promise viewers they can get the second part of the video – for free – when they join your list.

7.   Tap into Squidoo to get new subscribers.

Create Squidoo.com pages around niche topics with the purpose of driving visitors

to your landing page. In other words, all your Squidoo links should point to your squeeze page.

8.   Co-promote with others in your niche.

Here you can swap endorsements with your partners. You can post your endorsements on your respective blogs as well as in your newsletters.

9.   Unleash the power of content marketing.

First create a multi-part article series around a niche topic. Then upload Part 1 to the article directories (such as EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com and IdeaMarketers.com) and upload the rest of the series to your autoresponder. Use your article byline to encourage people to get Part 2 of the article by clicking through to your squeeze page.

10.       Form a newsletter co-op.

Do a co-registration deal with one or more people in your niche. That is, when a prospect is joining your partner’s newsletter, they also get the option of joining your newsletter at the same time (simply by checking a checkbox).

Summary

You can use each of these ten methods to get dozens, hundreds or even thousands of new subscribers. Just imagine how big your list will be once you apply all these methods!

Which method(s) do you use – or have you got any other methods you’d like to share?

101 List Building Tips – Why Build a List?

Hello again.  I’m glad you came back for the first batch of tips.  Welcome!

I have been a little longer getting this written and posted because I have been in the throws of moving.  I have shut down my home in the UK and moved to Spain where we have a small “finca” or olive grove.  We travelled by ferry from England to Northern Spain, then drove down through Spain to Andalucia – the southern most province.  “We” comprises my husband and I, 2 huskies and a Jack Russell-with long legs!  The dogs go in the kennels on the ferry and we go up several times during the crossing to give them walks around the decks.  The weather was very kind to us – the sea was calm and we had sun most of the time we were driving.

We were very lucky!  It snowed in northern Spain the day after we went through and now there is terrible weather in the UK!  Here in Andalucia it is cold and raining – with some short sunny spells.   This explodes the myth of constant sun in Spain!

Well – more of the olives later.  For now, let’s get on and answer the question …

Why Build A List?

Before you start building your list, it’s important to understand why you need one. Sure, you hear everyone saying that building a list is the “thing” to do, but if you don’t understand the reasons, you won’t be as motivated to do so.

101 List Building Tips – Introduction

List Building
Whenever you speak with another Internet Marketer you’re probably likely to hear the following questions come up at some point:

Do you have a list?

or

How big is your list?

If your answer to these questions was “no” and “zero,” then this series of blog posts is definitely a place to start. On the other hand, if you do have an established list, there’s always room for improvement. I recommend that you make it a priority to continue to learn strategies for increasing your list size and also increasing the amount of income generated from it.

Having a list can literally be your ticket to earning the kind of income you dream of earning. Many marketers focus on getting to the top of the search engines to build their businesses, but having a list can literally “Google-proof” your income. If, heaven-forbid, you get dropped from the search engines tomorrow, there’s no need to close up shop – if you have a list.

It doesn’t matter whether your business is online or off; having your own list of customers or prospective customers means that you can get them to visit your website, blog, or store on command. This ability to summon traffic on command can keep your income steady through good times with Google and the not-so-good times.

Over then next few posts I will be giving you 101 tips to improve your business by list building .  The tips will be grouped by section, and include tips for list building, promotion, autoresponder copy, and making sales. Ihope that as you read through my posts, many of the tips will resonate with you.  Feel free to grab them and implement them into your business.

The important thing is that you don’t just read these tips — you have to put them into action. Whether you’re just starting with list-building or are an old pro,  applying the tips one tip per day or so,  you’ll soon understand why the fortune is in the list!

I’ll be releasing these bit by bit over then next few weeks – if you’d like to get ahead and have them delivered into your mailbox, just sign up below:
